Gray wolves will soon be out from under Endangered Species protection in Wyoming again. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has agreed to Wyoming's wolf management plan, and all that needs to be done now is for the Wyoming State Legislature to approve the plan.

Gray wolves will soon be under the control of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department again, and they’ll be managed as predators in most of the state but as trophy game in the northwest corner of Wyoming. There are a lot of safeguards in place to keep them from falling under endangered species protection again, but we’ll be able to hunt them shortly after the State Legislature approves the management plan. Listen to today’s show for more on Wyoming’s wolves, and read the state’s wolf management plan here.
